Solidarity with Cameron Bridge Strikers!

The SSP stands in solidarity with the Cameron Bridge distillery strikers in their dispute against Diageo.

On Monday (28th September) the SSP joined workers from GMB and Unite on their picket line in the Cameron Bridge area of Leven, Fife, where 10 jobs are facing the axe in Diageo’s whiskey distillery division.

Diageo is an multinational corporation that’s made over $20.2 billion in revenue in 2025, including $4.8 billion in Europe alone.

Diageo owns Johnnie Walker, Guinness, Smirnoff and Baileys among over 200 brands, yet the company is committing to savage cuts across Scotland and Ireland as part of a ‘global restructuring’.

Distillery’s are an integral part of Scotland’s economy: in Fife, distilleries like the one at Cameron Bridge provide vital employment opportunities in a region already massively affected by deindustrialisation.

Should these cuts pass, they will affect not only workers, but the local community as a whole.
